Some very common problems are resolved by following the guidance:
- Duplicate accounts, not sure which one to use.
- Unable to change account for prop; does not work after changing (wrong account, old account).
- Changed the account but can see the old account.
- Changed the account but can see the old account and the new account.
- Changed the account but can see multiple accounts in use.
- Changed the account but the chart shows a different account or no orders/positions.
- Restarted and lost all settings; old account showing.
- AFT500 NinjaBuddy or Chart not showing the same account as controllers.
Typical reasons: Changed the account settings only partially, or has multiple workspaces running, didn't save changes, updates overwrote the turnkey workspace, chart trader is on a different account on the chart.
How to resolve old account or multiple accounts in view in the AFT Algo Controllers
1) Make sure you are only running one workspace - close all workspaces in the background of NinjaTrader.
2) Use the market analyzer to change the account for all columns, scroll up and down to get them all.
3) Watch the market analyzer reload and update its columns.
4) Check the Algo/Trade Manager controllers to see the same as the market analyzer.
5) Make sure to change the AFT500 Ninja Buddy or the NT chart trader account if using charts and you want to see the orders and positions on the chart.
TIPS! N.B. WARNING!
- Market Analyzer: Always use the Market analyzer to set the account
- Change the account for all the instruments in all columns.
- Remove the instruments you do not want to trade or set them off.
- If you want to see the sim and live/prop account, right-click the tab and duplicate the tab.
- Remove the instruments you do not want from the new tab.
- Set the new tab account columns to the live account.
- Algo Controllers Not Visible
- After changing the account, the Algo Controllers are not displayed or not visible.
- Make sure the correct account is used, not an old redundant account.
- AFT8 Algo Controller is visible but display is blank, not showing the grid and buttons.
- AFT8 Workspace No Algo Controller visible.
- After changing the account, the Algo Controllers are not displayed or not visible.
- Accounts! If you have duplicate or old accounts
- You will need to reset NT8 Database and use the correct account.
- NinjaTrader 8 reset database - remove old and duplicate accounts.
- Settings AutoTrade On Start!
- Take care to set the Algo Entry Controller State to control manual/semi-auto and fully auto modes! The system can start with NinjaTrader and trade automatically if the settings are not set to pause, etc.
SAVE!
Click OK to apply and save the workspace as a different name to prevent losing settings on updates.
