What is the AlgoFuturesTrader License Notification popup?

AFT8 will write Notification messages locally to your PC as an html file and then display it on your PC browser - it will do this to alert you about licenses and the usage of AFT8 the information is written in the page sections and informs you of your options.

Messages are all written to your local PC:  \Documents\AlgoFuturesTrader\Docs

Q. Scenario as to when the popup occurs 

  1. you have installed AFT8 into NinjaTrader 8
  2. NT8 is connected to a prop eval or live trading connection
  3. You do not have a valid license, or you are not synced via: AFT Desktop 

Q. Why am I being sent this message in my browser?

The message is actually local written to your documents folder by AFT8 and then displayed in a Browser on your pc local.  So, you are not being sent anything over the internet it's all local on your PC - HTML is useful as it is widely supported on all PCs, and you can click on the links on the message etc. 

Q. What are the details and reason for the popup?

Read the message is the first thing to understand why you are getting it, simply scroll down and read the information and then if required - send it into support if you require more assistance and want to understand the details - we would need to read it to understand fully what it is indicating - usually it is because there is no license on the PC and AFT8 is being used for live/prop demo trading requiring a license.

Q. What are my options - to stop the popup?

  1. 100% Free usage - You can switch to NinjaTrader sim trading mode only and AFT8 will no longer require a license and  no popup will occur.

  2. Prop/Live usage:
    1. If you own a license or are on a free trial but have not synced licenses via AFT Desktop
      1. Login to AFT Desktop to sync your licenses to your PC  AFT8
      2. AFT.Desktop EULA accept prior to license downloading 
      3. View your licenses: https://account.algotradingsystems.net/
      4. Install desktop apps and login to download licenses
