In the situation where your OS documents folder location has changed, maybe due to a new disk or moving away from OneDrive, etc.

For example, documents folder relocation:
C:\Users\Trader\Documents
Was moved to:
D:\Users\Trader\Documents
NinjaTrader 8 location changed with it
C:\Users\Trader\Documents\NinjaTrader 8
Was moved to:
D:\Users\Trader\Documents\NinjaTrader 8
If AFT8 was originally installed to:
C:\Users\Trader\Documents\NinjaTrader 8
It will now need to be pointed to
D:\Users\Trader\Documents\NinjaTrader 8
AFT8 Primary Install to the new location
- The installer will need to be run manually to the new location. Very simple process: run installer and click browse.
- Navigate to the documents folder and expand.
- Select the NinjaTrader 8 folder.
- Click next and install.
Secondary Installer if validation failed or NinjaTrader folder changes
- If the primary installation was not successful, the secondary installer can be used.
- NinjaTrader folder location was changed since the prior installation.
- Installation validation of files or workspaces not in NinjaTrader Folder.
- Antivirus or other issues preventing the success of installation.
- The secondary installer is downloaded and stored at “\AppData\Local\MicroTrends\AFT”.
- To correct issues, the secondary installer must be run, the install directory must be explicitly browsed to and set to the NinjaTrader folder, then install completed.
- Simply click next for all other options – next time around the primary install will work.
