AFT7 troubleshooting common errors

The following will resolve most reported errors

  1. Windows Operating System  8 upwards 10 is best or Windows server 2016/2019
  2. Before installing NinjaTrader 7 or using AFT7
    1. Operating system Timezone date time  EST - Eastern Time  (US & Canada)
    2. Operating System Regional & Language Settings:
      1. Country: United States
      2. Language English (United States)
    3. PLEASE NOTE: If you change the Timezone after installing NT7 you will need to download all the historical data again using the historical data manager.
  3. Watch the videos and getting started with AFT7
  4. Download and install NinjaTrader 7 Trade Platform
    1. Install to the default location in your documents folder do not change the default.
  5. Get  a  real-time Intra-day Futures datafeed (not Kinetick EOD)
    1. Setup a Free Demo Futures Data Connection
  6. Download and run the AFT Installer
    1. Make sure you don't change the installer installation path it needs to install into your documents folder as is set by default e.g. C:\Users\Trader\Documents - it will install into the "NinjaTrader 7" folder
      e.g. "C:\Users\Trader\Documents\NinjaTrader 7"
    2. The same for workspace and templates installers 
  7. Start NinjaTrader 7
    1. Configure and connect the Intra-day Datafeed
    2.  Open the AFT7 workspaces provided by the installer
    3. The session and system is designed to work with EST 9.30 NYSE open....
    4. Any changes you make will be lost to a workspace- unless you save your own settings and then save the workspace as your own copy.
  8. NOTE: The Free version only works with Micro Futures, If you want a trial for the Ultimate for all futures please ask the help desk
  9. If running replay mode make sure you change the account to Replay 101 from Sim 101
  10. If you change the account and want to see the chart trader positions and orders display view chart trader and set the account and hide chart trader to see the positions/orders on chart
  11. Learn NinjaTrader basics connection, charts, workspaces, templates, Chart Trader. Rolling contracts, downloading historical data
  12. Turn off global Simulation for live trading in NinjaTrader control center
  13. Use NinjaTrader support for all platform questions and assistance with the platform and connections
