NinjaTrader Charts are blank
unable to restore Instrument error message popup
A valid connection is used and data has been downloaded, charts were not blank before but suddenly are blank wont load
- Restart NinjaTrader 7 - a bug sometimes causes blank charts
AFT require Intraday live market data for futures
AFT uses intraday bars so if you are downloaded and connected and have blank charts you need to be connected to a data which supports intraday data - realtime and historical data:

- Get Free Datafeed for trading simulator
- use the premium NinjaTrader Kinetick Datafeed
- Apply for a NinjaTrader Live Futures Account
Trouble Shooting
NinjaTrader is connected to data but the charts are blank.
Scenario 1: NinjaTrader is connected to the "Free Kinetick EOD connection"
Kinetick EOD (end of day) provides data for Daily bars, weekly,monthly and yearly ,it does not provide data for tick or minute bars.
Solution: Get Intraday live market data for NinjaTrader
Scenario 2: NinjaTrader is connected to Intraday live market data connection but no charts or data is moving.
- You have run out of trial time
- You have data connection issues
Solution: Get Intraday live market data for NinjaTrader
Scenario 3: NinjaTrader is connected to Intraday live market data connection but no charts data is moving
Test
Open a blank chart or time and sales and apply a instrument such ES 03-21 for which you are enabled for and try to view data.
If data is not moving
- Out of the market session wait until within the market session hours
If data is moving
- Check your charts need rolling to the current futures contracts - eg. ES 12-20 to ES 03-21 for guidance see: How to Roll Contracts in NinjaTrader 7
- If the charts are the correct contract but not moving - this is likely a rare error with NinjaTrader 7 and you need to set the chart data series "To date" to make sure the data coverage includes today's date and then save the workspace.
