how to look for error logs in aft8 and nt8 – Algo Trading Systems Help Center

look in the NT8 Documents/NinjaTrader 8/trace folder for files like: AFT8.Error.20230710.txt

Note about logs/traces for ATS/AFT8 These logs/traces are specific to AFT8 and also the actual OS level application event logs - Plus the usual NT Error logs/traces we would also ask for these too. For Unhandled Exceptions with no error report in the NT logs/Errors For the logs we need the AFT8 Specific logs and Os Event View logs. These allow use to debug and pinpoint dependencies in the case of unhandled exceptions invisible in the view of NT etc. The AFT8 view separates out in ready format for a diagnosis But also in the event of unhandled exceptions not logged in NT Then view delves deeper in and also into the actual OS app events etc Which would log and provide the missing details of an unhandled exception including app modules and dependencies so ttats what can be used to resolve, in the absence of any error login in the NT logs this is the only alternative and only way to debug it etc. We can then pinpoint the issue and fix if its this side of the fence etc.

Also can check windows Event Viewer search for "Event Viewer" in the start/search TIP: This is especially useful for when the other logs/traces dont show any error and causes such as Unhandled Exception and crash.
